I’ve seen a lot of poems on xanga lately, so I thought I’d share one of my favorites. Enjoy.
A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore–
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

Hmm, well I searched an online dictionary (not half as good as a proper one which reminds me to do some shopping later, hehe!) and could not find ANY words for either twit, idiot, moron or imbecile! But they are made up by the normal folk and they probably forget to include the best words *lol*
But the “capillatis” part is the ‘hair’ and ‘shaggiest’ part of the insult…just incase you were interested *lol*

Thanks for sharing the poem! It’s wonderfully odd. Hughes was from my hometown, but I’ve never actually read any of his work. Thank you very much for providing me such a convenient forum in which to do so.

Glad you put a Langston Poem up…. he was great in college and still is great! Your writing is nice also and was curious if you did poems also? I do some poems and I email them to my loves so hopefully you could try that also… even short 5 line poems are nice to send or post…. as they get the zen of the moment and really are easy to get the courage to do!
