OH NO! My hands are shaking as I write this. Ray Charles died today at 73.
I
just finished his autobiography a few weeks ago, and he seemed like a
person who could remain smiling in even the toughest times. I
most admired how he never let his blindness keep him from experiencing
life to the fullest, whether as a kid riding his bike without care, or a teenager
traveling alone from George to Florida to Seattle to California. My
favorite songs of his are the slower ones: “Hard Times”, “Drown In My
Own Tears”, “The Sun’s Gonna Shine Again” and “Lucky Old Sun.” I know Ray is now just “rolling
around heaven all day.”The biopic Ray, with Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, comes out later this year.

He’s singing with Barry White now…
Oh wow
Its sad that were nearing the end of the living “true” legendary artists
oh, man. This is the first I’ve heard.
I was just listening to that CD (that someone gave me) a couple days ago.
Another legend gone… and I don’t think there’ll ever be another like him, do you?
Wow, he did? Dang…I didn’t even know that….sad. He was a cool dood.
This is one motherfucker of a day.
“georgia on my mind”
RIP mr. ray charles!
I gotta agree with starboard. That bit of news hit me yesterday like a ton of bricks. I had just exited the highway, seconds from home on the tail end of a particularly bad day, thinking I could finally just relax, when I heard the story on NPR. Damn.

Yeah, Ray Charles will be missed by many, many people…….
Maybe you’ve heard Ronald Reagan recently died too?? Geez.
I vote to put Brother Ray on the $10 bill and not Reagan.

he gave a lot to the music world…..there are no artists like that anymore….thats the most depressing part. modern music is either heartless or music-less
