Asobi Seksu, the internet friendly NYC band. On how they recruited their drummer:
Keith Hopkin: We found Glenn on craigslist.
and a little later:
EARLASH: Talk about the New York scene.
Glenn Waldman:
I think there’s a good group of people helping bands right now. Like
Audrey [melodynelson.com] and Jasper [jenyk.com], who spend an awful
lot of time helping the New York music scene, to bring it together and
to showcase bands.KH: And a lot of the blogging has spread awareness of bands. There used to be ‘zines that helped bands. Now it’s blogs.
GW: Blogs are the new ‘zines.
KH:
The blogs don’t just let people know what bands are out there, but it
helps bands find each other and have more of a community.(The interviewer, Lindsay Robertson, also keeps a great blog: lindsayism.com).
